Maybe this would be your very first pageant. Maybe you've been competing for years.

Maybe MASP used to be part of your life, and you've been wondering if it's time to c

ome back or, maybe you've watched from the sidelines thinking, I would love to do something like that…but I wouldn't even know where to start.

Maybe you're the mom of a little girl who just loves dresses and crowns, but you're wondering what else she might gain from the experience.

Wherever you're starting from, we want you to know something:

There's a place for you here.

As we step into the first year of this new season of the MASP experience, that's one of the things that matters most to us. We want MASP to feel like a place where girls and women can come exactly as they are—and have room to become whoever they're becoming next.

You Don't Have to Be a "Pageant Girl"

We hear it all the time, "I don't know if I'm a pageant girl."

But what exactly does a "pageant girl" look like?

  • She might be outgoing.

  • She might be incredibly shy.

  • She might play three sports and spend most of her life in sneakers.

  • She might love fashion, makeup and anything that sparkles.

  • She might be an honor student, an artist, a dancer, a farmer, a volunteer, an entrepreneur or a girl who hasn't figured out what her thing is yet.

  • She might have competed since she was five.

  • She might be 35 and finally doing something she's thought about for years.

There isn't one personality, one background, one body type or one level of experience that makes someone belong on our stage.

You don't have to become someone else to belong at MASP.

We want to help you become more confident being you!

If You're Brand-New, Start Here!

Trying something new can be intimidating.

Pageantry especially can feel like a whole different world when you're looking at it from the outside.

  • What do I wear?

  • What are they going to ask me?

  • How do I walk?

  • What am I supposed to put on a résumé?

  • What if everyone else knows w

    hat they're doing and I don't?

First: they don't.

Second: you aren't expected to figure it all out by yourself.

That's one of the reasons we love our MASP local pageants so much! A local pageant is a wonderful place to begin.

You can learn how competition works in a smaller setting, practice interview, get comfortable on stage, meet other contestants and start developing skills you can carry with you into the State Pageant—and far beyond pageantry.

And you'll have directors there to help you.

We don't expect you to arrive polished.

We're here to help you grow.

And If You've Been Doing This for Years, There's a Place for You Too!

Maybe none of this is new to you.

  • You've competed.

  • You've interviewed.

  • You've won some.

  • You've lost some.

  • You've collected enough garment bags to open a small store...

Come anyway!

Because experienced contestants bring something incredibly valuable to a pageant community. You can continue challenging yourself while also becoming the girl another contestant looks up to.

And there is always another level of growth. A stronger interview. A bigger goal. A cause you want to champion. A leadership opportunity.

A chance to learn how to handle disappointment differently than you did five years ago.

A chance to discover that the girl standing beside you doesn't always have to be your competition—sometimes she becomes your friend.

We want MASP to be a place where experienced competitors are challenged, supported and given opportunities to keep becoming better versions of themselves.

Maybe It's Time to Come Back

And then there are the girls who already know MASP.

  • Maybe you competed with us once.

  • Maybe you came back year after year.

  • Maybe life changed.

  • Maybe you aged into a new division.

  • Maybe you took a break from pageantry altogether.

  • Or maybe MASP simply hasn't felt like your place lately.

We'd love for you to come see us again.

This is a new chapter.

We're honoring the history, friendships and traditions that have made MASP special while also asking ourselves what we want this program to become for the next generation.

  • We want more connection.

  • More support.

  • More opportunities.

  • More community involvement.

  • More preparation.

  • More growth.

And more of those moments when someone walks through the door feeling like an outsider and eventually realizes, Oh. These are my people!

We're Building Skills for Life, Not Just for the Stage

Of course we want our contestants to have fun. We want the dresses and the pictures and the laughing backstage. We want the butterflies before walking onstage and the excitement when a name is called.

But we also want something more.

  • We want a little girl to begin learning how to look someone in the eye and introduce herself.

  • We want her to learn how to answer a question thoughtfully instead of searching for the "perfect" answer.

  • As she grows, we want her to learn how to write a résumé, speak in front of people, advocate for something she believes in, communicate professionally, set goals and carry herself with confidence.

  • We want her to learn how to win graciously.

  • And just as importantly, how to work incredibly hard for something, not get the result she wanted, get back up and try again.

Those aren't pageant skills.

They're life skills.

And if you're stepping onto the stage later in life because you're ready to challenge yourself, practice using your voice, build confidence or do something that scares you a little?

There's room for that journey here, too.

Growth doesn't have an age limit!

Your Director Should Be Part of Your Team

One of the things we want to make very clear in this new MASP chapter is that you aren't doing this alone.

Our local directors aren't simply there to collect your paperwork and see you on pageant day.

We want them to be a resource.

  • Ask questions.

  • Tell us when you're nervous.

  • Tell us when you don't understand something.

  • Let us help you prepare.

  • Let us point you toward resources.

  • Let us celebrate with you, the wins that nobody else realizes are huge—like the first time the shy girl answers an interview question without looking at the floor.

We're not looking for perfection.

We're looking for potential.

And sometimes someone else sees your potential before you do!

Come Find Your Place

Maybe you'll come to MASP and win your very first pageant.

Maybe you won't.

Maybe you'll compete for several years before your name is finally called.

Maybe the thing you remember most won't have anything to do with a crown at all.

  • Maybe it will be a friend.

  • A director.

  • A service project.

  • A moment backstage.

  • Something you learned about yourself.

Or the first time you did something you were absolutely terrified to do and thought afterward:

Wait…I actually did that.

That's what we want MASP to be.

A place to try.

A place to learn.

A place to be challenged.

A place to make friends.

A place to serve.

A place to grow.

And most importantly, a place where you belong.

Our new MASP chapter begins with our local pageants, and whether you're stepping onto a pageant stage for the first time, coming back for another try, returning after years away or looking for your next challenge…

Come join us!

Bring your experience—or bring absolutely none.

Bring your confidence—or let us help you find some.

Bring your big goals, your nerves, your questions and your personality.

We'll meet you there.

There's a place for you at MASP.
